A 45-story, 180-meter-tall residential high-rise in Dubai, U.A.E. Dubai located on Sheikh Zayed Road that connects Dubai and Abu Dhabi.  The building is constructed to enhance the dynamism of the site. Structured in steel with a concrete composite façade system reinforced with steel fiber, the panels are made to enhance their own performance in tension and compression.

The envelope provides two contiguous buildings that transform and lose their individual identity, fusing into a hyphenated formation. This transformative envelope allows the internal spatial possibilities to twist in response to privacy issues, breaking down the typologically-based norms that govern the repetitive production of condominiums. Parameters defining individual units include ceiling heights, room-sizes and circulation pathways, not just numbers of rooms. This invites new criteria for the sale of property – volume and not simply area.
