Shahe Apartments, designed as a typical unit for a large multi-family residential development in Beijing, relies on a few simple techniques to create an innovative and comfortable living space. A simple gypsum board surface wraps from ceiling to the feature wall creating a sense of enclosure. Lighting the edge of this surface produces a sense of lightness and warmth. Fabric surfaces wrap the adjacent walls to add softness and comfort.

This model home, designed with a small family or a young professional in mind, has been optimized for cost and best use of the space. The spaces are generous and efficiently laid out. The apartment is cost effective and comfortable while preserving the design intention for the project. There are 24 of these units in the residential complex currently under construction.

沙河公寓为北京大型多户住宅开发的典型单元设计，透过一些简单的技术来创造一种创新和舒适的居住空间。利用简单的石膏板材包裹天花板及特色墙面，营造出一种封闭感，再以灯带照亮该表面的边缘进而产生明亮和温暖的感觉。最后以织物表面包裹相邻的墙壁，以增加柔软和舒适度。
